Bechdel Violence

Representation Matters.

Blade Runner

The Blade Runner universe has androids that look so human that it’s hard to distinguish them; this is a huge plot point. This review counts the androids as human because the actors portraying them are not altered in a noticeable way. One could not tell, looking at frames out of context, who was human and who was not.

Blade Runner does not pass the Bechdel Test. There are multiple named women, but none of them talk to each other.

Blade Runner contains infrequent graphic violence towards women and frequent graphic violence towards men.
